iProVPN Review 2025 – An Underrated VPN That Has All the Qualities to Become the Market Leader
If your job requires you working from home or you simply want to geo-shift your actual IP location to circumvent restrictions and stream some content online, iProVPN could be your best bet.
The 2020-born VPN creates a secure and encrypted connection between a host PC and a server at another location.
If you want to wrap your traffic and browsing data in an additional layer of security, this might be a worthwhile investment.
However, the best use of iProVPN is to beef up the security of your connection while you are on a public Wi-Fi from someone you probably do not know or trust – at hotels, cafes, airports, and even vehicle dealerships while you are waiting for your car to be retrofitted with new headlights.
Any bad actor can intercept and possibly steal your data on these public networks. iProVPN can help you thwart such attempts because it encrypts your data using AES-256 standards.
It practically packs in everything you would usually find in high-end VPNs, including malware protection, ad blocker, and split tunnelling. Here’s a full rundown on why it might be a good investment (including why it might not be so too)!

Is iProVPN Relatively Popular on Search Sites like Google?
Google Trends is a free data visualization tool that helps marketers gauge the popularity of a keyword, a product or a service at a given point of time. I used it to have an idea of how popular the software is worldwide.
I must add that the interest in iProVPN has been relatively low over the past year, with only a few glorious exceptions around late 2024 and early 2025.
Looking at the Google Trends data, I found very low search activity for most of the year, then suddenly, searches surged for a brief period before dropping back down.
I think this happened due to a major promotion or marketing push—likely a seasonal sale or a limited-time discount offer.
Given that one of the spikes aligns with the holiday season, let’s assume that the general interest grew rapidly when iProVPN ran a Christmas or New Year’s deal.
The search volume for “iProVPN review” follows a similar pattern, as I found, with a noticeable increase in early 2025.
This suggests that people weren’t just searching for the VPN itself – they were actively looking for user feedback and expert opinions before making a purchase.
It also means the promotions got people interested, but they weren’t ready to buy without some reassurance.
I went on to compare iProVPN with TunnelBear, and I must add the patterns are interesting. Both VPNs saw a spike in interest around the same time.
TunnelBear, which is now owned by McAfee, is a more established reputation (it was launched back in 2011), so the fact that 2020-born iProVPN’s peak was on par or even slightly higher for a moment suggests that their promotional efforts were effective.
However, I think the biggest question is one of sustainability. After the spikes, interest dropped off quickly, which means whatever momentum they gained didn’t stick.
This could be because iProVPN still lacks widespread brand recognition or that users didn’t find enough long-term value to continue engaging.
How Good Is iProVPN Customer Support?
I reached out to iProVPN’s live chat support and all I got was quick, professional, and informative responses.
The agent I got connected to didn’t waste time with generic replies or scripted lines—and they actually tried to address my questions, which impressed me.
Also, I like the fact that there are no robotic responses, as I could feel a human support exec typing out the replies. I was happy to wait for a few moments.
One of the first questions I asked was about dedicated servers for torrenting and gaming. I must add that their response was immediate.
The support agent even pointed me to servers in Germany, Finland, and Spain as the best options for these activities.
I was also delighted to know that there are dedicated Streaming servers in the app such as USA Streaming, Australia streaming, India streaming.
No vague “try different locations” suggestion—just a clear list of optimal choices, something which I liked.
When I asked about supported protocols, the agent listed OpenVPN UDP, TCP, IKEv2, and WireGuard, while also mentioning that TCP tends to be slower.
Of all these protocols, WireGuard really deserves a special mention, as it’s known for its efficiency and speed.
Lastly, I asked about its relatively small server pool – just 250+ servers. This number is quite modest compared to the thousands offered by larger competitors.
I brought this up directly, and although the response was pretty cold and professional, I loved the fact that they focus on quality over quantity.
The support agent even added that they recently expanded to 10+ new locations, although they didn’t specify these new locations.
All in all, the overall experience with iProVPN’s support was genuinely good. Their responses weren’t filled with fluff, and the team seemed knowledgeable about their service.
iProVPN – How Is It Better (or Worse) Than the Competition?
I compared iProVPN with three popular alternatives, and before you check out the overview of how they fare against each other, let me tell you that iProVPN gets the competitive edge over Total VPN and PrivateVPN in more than one way, but TunnelBear is the clear winner among these four.

Should You Get iProVPN?
Like any decent VPN, iProVPN has its own set of good and bad things. Its long-distance servers deliver slow performance, and you may experience dramatic drops in upload and download speeds.
Its local servers are way better in my opinion. Also, consider the fact that it has a smaller server pool if you compare it to some of the established market leaders the 2011-founded TunnelBear.
However, it has not stopped expanding and improving its game since its inception in 2020. I liked the way they have categorized the servers for streaming, P2P sharing, and gaming.
There are also location-specific servers you can find that are recommended for streaming.
It has got all the basics right; good encryption standards, malware blocking and ad blocking capabilities included, competitive pricing and solid support.
In my opinion, you won’t regret investing in it. I will go into the pricing part, but before that, here’s a short introduction of the company.
